3 steps to spring skincare
March 23, 2015 – Marina Engervik

The sun has started to warm up a bit, little flowers are peeking out and the birds are singing. This is a wonderful time of year!
In winter, the skin often becomes dry and dull due to the cold weather. Now that spring is here, it's time for a spring skin cleanse. It's very easy! Follow these 3 steps for skin care and you will surely enjoy a beautiful, glowing skin that is ready for spring and summer.
1) Exfoliate
Exfoliating the skin means scrubbing/washing it to remove dead skin cells. Removing dead skin cells is very important. This will allow the fresh cells to emerge and the skin will appear younger and healthier. Oils and creams that you apply after a good exfoliation will work deeper into the skin and thus also increase the effectiveness of the products.
Use a gentle facial scrub, or make your own all-natural exfoliating scrub: Mix virgin olive oil, honey, and raw cane sugar. Take a teaspoon of each ingredient and mix in a small bowl. Apply to face and gently scrub all over (avoiding the eye area) and rinse off.
See our recommended facial cleanser that is based on oils, and which also makes it easy to remove makeup without acetone-based makeup remover.
2) Moisture
After washing and exfoliating your face, apply your facial oil. Place 8 drops in your hand. Apply to face and neck. Take a few minutes to massage the oil into your skin. Massage in light circular motions all over your face. This will increase blood circulation and allow the oils to penetrate deeper into your skin.
3) Protect
Apply sun protection. Buy a light sunscreen that does not contain parabens. SPF 15 is good enough protection in the spring sun. There are also regular face creams with sunscreen in them. Go to your nearest skin care salon and get a recommendation for a cream with sunscreen for your skin.
Remember that you should always use facial oil under your sunscreen . Sun and swimming dry out the skin, so it is important to provide the skin with plenty of moisture, regardless of the season. This will keep your skin healthy and balanced throughout the spring and summer.

Have a lovely spring!
