What is Acai?
Acai is a fruit from the Acai palm tree that grows in Brazil and Trinidad in South America. The acai fruit is often called the acai berry, because the fruit looks like a berry about the size of a small grape. It is dark purple to black in color and tastes a bit like a cross between a blackberry and dark chocolate.
Acai fruit is often called a superfood due to its high nutritional content of antioxidants, amino acids, essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. Acai is high in vitamin C and is also a source of vitamins A, B1, B2, B3 and E, calcium, magnesium, zinc and copper.
This is truly a superfruit packed with nutrients that are good for both the body and skin.
What does Acai help against?
Because acai is so high in antioxidants, it protects the skin from pollution and free radicals, which in turn will strengthen the skin and stop premature aging of the skin. Acai is widely used in anti-aging products because it protects the skin so effectively against oxidation.
Acai is helpful for sensitive skin due to its high content of vitamins C and B, which are known to have protective and soothing effects.
Acai has both omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids in it that revive the appearance of dry, dull skin. When your skin has the fatty acids it needs, it will look smooth and soft with a fresh glow. If you lack fatty acids in your skin, it dries out and the skin looks gray and dull. Our Acai Hydra Cream has a high content of both acai juice, acai extract and acai oil, so you get a real boost of nutrition from the amazing acai fruit. The skin regains its glow and becomes soft and smooth.
What is special about our Acai?
The acai berries are hand-harvested in Brazil, where the acai palm is found in its natural environment. We use the whole acai fruit in our Acai Hydra Cream. We ferment the whole acai berry in a probiotic mixture to release all the nutrients, making the extracts easier for the skin to absorb, and we also use a cold-pressed organic certified acai oil of very high quality. This way we use the whole fruit during production and nothing goes to waste.
