Introducing: Marina Miracle
Marina Elisabeth Engervik is 31 years old and lives in Oslo with her husband and their one-year-old daughter. Her favorite place is in the laboratory where she researches and experiments new formulas for the skincare brand Marina Miracle.
Inspiration
''I was born with atopic eczema and have always had very sensitive skin. When I was in my early twenties I developed serious skin problems with deep acne and when I treated this with traditional products the eczema flared up. So I decided to make my own 'medicine' and my passion for pure oils, herbs and plant extracts was born, as was my first product, Herbal Face Oil. My skin was healed in just one month and people started asking for the 'miracle oil'. I understood that there was a huge need for natural and effective products that really did what they promised. I quit my job as a salesperson and started Marina Miracle.''
BEST Beauty Tips
"Always remove your makeup before going to bed. When I was a teenager, my mom told me that if I was going to be allowed to wear makeup, I had to take the time to remove it every day. A good cleansing routine is the first step to taking good care of your skin."
YOUR DESERT ISLAND PRODUCT
''Herbal Face Oil. I need to always be able to give my skin balance and moisture, without it I wouldn't be happy on my desert island.''
WHAT'S NEXT FOR YOUR BRAND?
''We are in a very busy period because we are expanding to other European countries, we now have franchises in six countries and we are adding more and more. I am also developing several very exciting products that I hope we can launch soon.''
Go a little greener at home
- ''Start looking for all the harmful chemicals that may be hiding in your skincare, haircare and house cleaning products, and start replacing these with green and eco-friendly products.
- Look for microplastics in toothpaste, body scrubs and other exfoliating products. Remember to throw them in the trash, not down the sink!
- And my third tip is to see if any of the products you already have can be used for other purposes. A great example is our facial cleanser, it's a makeup remover, but it's also absolutely great to use in my daughter's bath water. It turns the bath water into a lovely milk that is very gentle and mild on her sensitive and atopic skin.''
