Marina Miracle Face Oil & Cleanser – Review

The founder of Marina Miracle, Marina Elisabeth Engervik, herself suffers from atopic eczema and experienced side effects such as irritation, sensitivity and acne from usual conventional skin care (containing strong and artificial chemicals. Ingredients from nature gave her positive results and there began her interest in creating skin care with nature's own healing herbs and plant extracts. The Marina Miracle range consists of face oils, serums, face masks, face peelings, cleansers as well as serums and oils for men. The products are 100% natural and contains at least 70% ecologically certified ingredients from, among others, Debio and Ecocert. All products are also water-free.

Here are the three products I tested from Marina Miracle. I brought these products home from the Hud & Kosmetikmässan in September and I have now used them for just over 4 weeks.

Sweet & Creamy Oil Cleanser

A creamy oil cleanser that should suit all skin types is recommended morning and night. Contains, among other things, sunflower oil, calendula oil, sea buckthorn, fermenterad (probiotics) broccoli and coconut. Comes in a green glass bottle with a pump (110 ml). Has a lovely mild scent of vanilla. When this creamy oil cleanser comes into contact with water, it becomes like a rich cleansing milk. I first wet my face with lukewarm water and take one or two pumps of the cleanser in my hand and apply with soft movements with my fingers over my face and neck.

Adds a little more water and massages a little more. Then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat the skin dry with a towel. This variant works well on my skin. The skin becomes clean and make-up residue is removed effectively but does not dry out the skin. I use the cleanser in the evening and skip the morning. Sweet & Creamy Oil Cleanser is very good.
I really like this cleanser. It cleans effectively, it is kind to my sensitive reactive skin and the scent is mild. It meets all the requirements I have for a good cleaning.

Herbal Face Oil

Face oil that should suit normal/dry and combination skin. Herbal Face Oil will balance, moisturize and also reduce fine lines as well as relieve irritated skin and eczema. 4-6 drops are applied morning and evening. Contains, among other things, jojoba, avocado, aloe vera, raspberry seed oil, cardamom, and lavender as well as tea tree and camphor. Herbal Face Oil comes in a green glass bottle (5 ml and 25 ml) with a dosing pipette. It is important to shake the bottle inside so that the herbs are mixed properly. Herbal Face Oil has a rich consistency but does not feel greasy on the skin.

I use 5 drops on a cleansed face and neck. Massage in with light movements (preferably in the direction of the lymph). The oil has a mild scent of lavender which is calming. The skin feels moisturized and boosted with nutrition and the oil gives the skin a nice glow. I use this oil morning and night. The oil is extremely cheap. So even if 25 ml sounds small, this oil will last for at least another 3 months.

Just like cleansing, Herbal Face Oil is kind to my sensitive skin. Properly moisturizing and gives my skin the nourishment it so desperately needs without being irritated.

Argan Night Serum

A face oil that is used until night and has anti-aging properties, is exfoliating and provides the skin with moisture. Will suit all skin types. Argan Night Serum comes in a green glass bottle (5 ml and 25 ml) with a dropper. The night serum contains, among other things, apricot oil, almond oil, argan oil and AHA fruit acids. AHA helps to break down the dead skin cells so that the serum can work more deeply. As this serum is more active, it is recommended to apply 4 drops 2-3 times per week.

Shake the bottle before use so that the contents (herbs) are mixed. Argan Night Serum has a lovely scent of clementine. The serum feels like an oil, slightly lighter consistency than Herbal Face Oil. I use the serum twice a week. 4 drops in the hand and massage lightly into the face and neck. The two nights a week I use the serum replaces the Herbal Face Oil. The serum is good. My bottle is 5ml and there is a lot left in it.

I am very cautious when it comes to slightly more active products. Using this serum twice a week seems to be adequate for my skin. The night serum provides a "nice" exfoliation and anti-aging effect. In the morning, the skin does not feel dry or tight. So again, my assessment is that even the serum is effective and gentle on my sensitive skin. It has not caused any irritations.

Summary review

For me, who has sensitive, reactive skin and skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis, as well as allergies, it is often difficult to use products with essential oils. It is important that the composition of the different oils is not too strong, but that their beneficial effect is still there. I hope you understand what I mean. I strongly believe in the impact of essential oils both physically and mentally, but sometimes it can be just too much and too intensive scents so that both the respiratory tract and the skin react negatively.

Here, Marina Miracle has got it exactly right in its composition, at least according to my needs and sensibility. It is not often that I find a skincare brand where the majority of the brand's products fit so perfectly into what my skin accepts.
