We love applying pure oils to our skin because they nourish and care for it. But we must not forget that providing the body with pure oils from within is also very good for both skin, hair and health. Especially for those with atopic eczema, lubricating the body from within is essential.
Evening primrose oil is extracted from the fruits of the evening primrose plant and is an oil that we can both apply to the skin and eat. It has been proven repeatedly that evening primrose oil works against atopic eczema and very dry skin. Atopic eczema is a chronic inflammatory condition, people with sensitive skin are more susceptible to this disease. In atopic eczema, the skin becomes red, itchy and easily gets infected and inflamed, the skin also thickens in the areas with eczema.
The cause of atopic dermatitis is unknown, but researchers believe it is hereditary. Ingestion of dyes and additives, smoking, and pollen can trigger the eczema.
I myself struggle with atopic eczema. As a child, I was severely affected and was hospitalized for periods because my entire body was covered in eczema that was inflamed. They put me in all kinds of baths, smeared me with cortisone and all kinds of creams... I got acupuncture and homeopathic medicines. Nothing helped. Then we came across evening primrose oil after a tip from some friends. This was my medicine. Large doses of pure evening primrose oil several times a day forced the eczema back and the skin became healthy again. I still use evening primrose oil daily. Without it, the eczema returns. I highly recommend this fine oil.
Do you or your child suffer from atopic eczema? Try evening primrose oil. Not only will it help with eczema, but it's also great for skin, hair, and premenstrual symptoms.
